THOUSANDS of people are invited to remember their loved ones over the festive season by dedicating a star on a famous Christmas tree.

The Teesside Hospice Light up a Life tree will return to the Parkway Shopping Centre, Coulby Newham, for a second year.

All donations go towards helping Teesside Hospice provide vital care to patients and their families.

Debbie Coulson, marketing and fundraising manager, said: “For many, the festive period is a time when loved ones are missed more than ever.

“We are so pleased to have the support of the Parkway Shopping Centre for the second year running, meaning that even more local people can take part in this very special appeal.”

To place a dedication, visit the shopping centre or one of the other trees located at the Hillstreet Shopping Centre, Teesside Crematorium or Tesco in Redcar.

Teesside Hospice’s Light up a Life tree will be on display until December 19.

Supporters of the campaign can attend a Remembrance Service held at St Barnabas Church, Linthorpe, at 7pm on Wednesday, December 20.

Zoe France, Parkway Shopping Centre manager, said: “I am delighted to be supporting the campaign, Teesside Hospice is a local charity that is close to the hearts of many of our shoppers and the funds raised will make such a difference to the local community.”
