BIKERS were injured after being knocked from their motorcycle while travelling along a busy road today.
Police, coastguards and the mountain rescue team rushed to Saltburn’s Windsor Road, where they helped a man and a woman after a crash on Sunday afternoon.
The pair came off the grey Kawasaki bike they were riding following a collision with a green Lexus car.
Two people were taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital with leg injuries following the crash, according to the North East Ambulance Service.
A spokeswoman for NEAS said: “We received a call just after 12.30pm to an RTC on Windsor Road.
“When we arrived we found a man and a woman with leg injuries, both were taken to James Cook University Hospital.”
The road was closed while emergency services attended to the pair, with Cleveland Police saying it was reopened after 40 minutes.
Bus services in the area were affected but have now returned to normal.
