CONDOLENCES have been offered to the family of a person found dead at the bottom of a cliff earlier this week.
Police, coastguards and lifeboat volunteers rushed to Saltburn on Thursday morning after being alerted by a member of the public.
They discovered a body at the base of a cliff and launched a multi-team recovery operation.
A spokesman for Redcar Coastguard said: “The deceased was recovered by Redcar’s RNLI lifeboat and taken to the lifeboat station.
“Our deepest condolences go to the families at this sad time.”
