PEOPLE who have made a difference in their community have been recognised for their achievements.

The People's Information Network (PIN) allows residents across Redcar and Cleveland to quickly and easily find useful services, ranging from breakfast clubs to information on training providers.

Winners this year included health walk leaders, community health champions and chairs/vice chairs from children’s centres across the borough.

They were all given awards to recognise the fact they give time and support to local people as well as representing the views of their local community.

Cllr Brenda Forster, the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, said: “I was delighted to be at the launch of the People’s Information Network, this is a great resource for residents across the borough to find services that are best for them.

“It was also a pleasure to present such vital members of the community with their awards, without their hard work and support PIN wouldn’t be possible.”

Held at Tuned In! the awards were part of a bigger launch event for PIN which saw services and the local community come together to learn more about the network.
