A MAN has been charged following an armed incident in Middlesbrough.
Officers yesterday cordoned off a block of flats in Coverdale, Hemlington, after a man was injured.
They were contacted just after 8.30am by a man saying he had been attacked by an assailant brandishing a weapon.
His injuries were not life threatening and he was taken to hospital.
Officers gained entry at about 11.35am to a flat. There had been no injury to any other party and a 46-year-old man inside the address was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault.
Armed police were sent to the scene due to the mention of a weapon.
Police would not say what the weapon was reported to be but it was not understood to be a gun.
Cleveland Police announced on Wednesday morning that a 46-year-old man has been charged with wounding, false imprisonment and criminal damage following an incident on Coverdale Road, Hemlington, yesterday.
He is due to appear at court today.
