REDCAR MP Ian Swales has joined broadcaster and journalist, Vanessa Feltz, to show his support for the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal, following an event to celebrate the charity at the House of Commons.
Mr Swales, who is stepping down as Liberal Democrat MP at the election for personal reasons, is encouraging people to donate and wear a Marie Curie daffodil pin throughout March.
The money raised will help Marie Curie provide nursing care to people with a terminal illness and support for their families across Redcar.
Ms Feltz, who gave a speech to an audience of MPs, Lords and volunteers, is a long-time supporter of Marie Curie and spoke about the importance of its work.
Mr Swales said: “Nearly every family is affected by cancer at some point in their lives. Marie Curie do extremely valuable work in my constituency supporting families and individuals affected by cancer.”
