NEW apartments designed for adults with autism have opened on the site of a former Redcar Hospital.
Craegmoor, part of the Priory Group of Companies, has boosted its residential services in Redcar for adults with autism, with the completion of five self-contained apartments at New Stead House, a purpose-built home on the site of the former Stead hospital on Kirkleatham Street.
They have individual gardens as well as a kitchen, bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
The apartments form the second, and final, phase of a £1.8m development which provides services and accommodation for those on the autistic spectrum.
The project has also created more than 30 new senior and support worker jobs in the local area.
