AN INJURED seal pup caused delays on the A178 Seaton Carew road this morning after being clipped by a car.
The youngster strayed on to Tees Road, Hartlepool, at Seal Sands, was knocked by the car, and there were delays as motorists stopped to help.
It has now been rescued and taken to the vets where its health will be assessed.
Cleveland and Durham Roads Policing Unit said: "Today a seal pup was clipped by a car on Tees Road, Hartlepool.
"That is now off the road and also off to a vets."
