A FRESH appeal has been launched to recover a stolen Mercedes following an altercation.

Two men approached the 24-year-old owner of the car while he was de-icing it on his driveway.

The 24-year-old man was pushed to the ground by one of the men, with the other taking the car keys before they both got into the Mercedes E250 AMG and drove away at speed.

The silver car was taken at around 7.25pm on Friday, December 29, from the property on Levick Crescent, in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police are making a new appeal for information on the car or the identity of the two men involved in the theft.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The vehicle is distinctive as it has a full black panoramic roof.

"One of the males is described as being white, around 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and in his 20s.

"He wore a dark tracksuit with the hood pulled up tightly around his face.

"The second man was of a similar size and build to the first male.

"He also had his hood pulled up tightly around his face and he was wearing a dark tracksuit."

Any witnesses or anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to contact Detective Constable Matthew Speak on the non-emergency number 101.
