POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a crash on the A171 on the outskirts of Middlesbrough.
A man was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries following a collision between two vehicles near the Flatts Lane junction, at about 9.50am on Saturday.
Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit attended the scene along with ambulance and fire crews and the road was closed for a period.
Police said they were seeking information about the driving of a light blue VW Passat at the time of the collision or shortly beforehand.
The vehicle was travelling west towards Guisborough on the A171. Any witnesses should call Cleveland Police on 101 and quote event number 17-83186.
