A PENSIONER has been left badly shaken after being threatened with some sort of weapon.
Cleveland Police were called to the Queen Street area of Redcar at around 11.40am where an elderly lady reported she had been approached by three men in a back alley.
A police spokeswoman said: "The woman described one of them as being in possession of some sort of weapon. The lady was physically unhurt though understandably she was very shocked and distressed.
"One of the men was in his 30s with short cropped blonde hair and he was wearing a grey t-shirt.
"Officers, with assistance from the National Police Air Service (NPAS), have been searching the area in a bid to trace the men and the lady has been reassured that this appears to have been a random incident.
"We would reiterate that there is not believed to be any specific threat to the wider public in relation to this incident. Inquiries are on-going and police remain in the area to provide reassurance.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
