AN MP has swung into action to help launch National Golf Month.
Andy McDonald, MP for Middlesbrough, supports the initiative which aims to to inspire 100,000 people across the country to take up the sport as part of a health initiative.
Mr McDonald said: "Golf is often seen as a men-only activity so I am delighted that National Golf Month is trying to change that.
"Golf is good exercise, very social and can cost a lot less than people think. I would urge my constituents to try golf via the National Golf Month website; there are offers on there from lots of Yorkshire businesses so not only is it a fun and low cost way to try the sport, it is a great way to get out and see our lovely county."
