THERE may yet be a happy ending for five young boys left heartbroken after they were told they could not join a primary school to Disneyland Paris.

A travel company has come forward to offer the pupils of Whale Hill Primary School in Eston, Middlesbrough a free trip to the venue with one parent and a chance to stay in a hotel.

The school has been contacted and staff at online companies AttractionTix.co.uk and Hotel Tonight are now hoping to speak to the boys' parents.

The youngsters had each paid their £25 deposit for the trip but were told not enough spaces were available and five out of a party of 54 would have to stay at school. It was decided the fairest way was to put the names of all Year 6 children into a hat and draw out the five unlucky children who would remain in classes.

But now there is a chance Alfie Smith, Ethan Nicol, Jay Truscott, Adam Jobson and Brandon Kennedy could go after all.

Simon Applebaum, consumer marketing director at AttractionTix.co.uk said: “When we read about the Whale Hill Primary School Disneyland story we knew we could help. We simply want to offer all five boys and their families the trip they were planning to go on."

Tomas Mendoza UK country manager at Hotel Tonight said: “We read the story and we felt their pain. These kinds of last minute bookings are why we exist. So we are happy to help and hope they have a great time.”
