AN award-winning photographer is exhibiting his work from around the world at a North-East museum.

Ged Hickey, a professional fine art landscape photographer, who is well-known for his iconic panoramic images of the region, has returned to Kirkleatham Museum six years after his first exhibition there.

Born in Saltburn and raised in Marske, Mr Hickey has visited famous destinations over the past three years to take his photographs, travelling to Las Vegas, New York, Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland and Dubai.

Mr Hickey, who is a bronze prize winner of the Epson International Panoramic Awards 2014, said: “Kirkleatham Museum is an ideal place to show my work. I need a reasonably large space to give my work the impact I would like and Kirkleatham Museum offers that.

“You want to show off your work where you are born and live and it's very special to me as it's where my career in photography started in 2009.

“What has been most pleasing is seeing images from some of the best locations in the world sit comfortably alongside those from our region.

“We really do have an area of outstanding beauty we should all be proud of.”

The exhibition entitled Stunning Locations will be available for viewing at Kirkleatham Museum, from Sunday (April 26) until August 24.

Anyone interested in seeing the exhibition should call, 01642-479500.
