A PACKED programme of events gets under way this month at Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park.
The venue will play host to markets, educational courses and events throughout the year, with something in store for visitors of all ages.
The Farmers Markets return on the fourth Sunday of every month with Northern Dales Farmers and Stewart Park working together to build on the successes of last year.
This year’s series kicks off on Sunday, January 25.
The first event will also have a Scottish theme to mark Burns Night, with a number of stallholders offering Scottish-themed produce including The Gingerbread Mam with her ginger parkin, The Clucking Pig Company and their haggis scotch eggs, Mellanby’s Veg with their neeps and tatties and Sawley Kitchen with their shortbread.
Market manager Nigel Davison said: “We are looking forward to our second year working with the park in establishing the best farmers’ market in Teesside.”
Next month Irish/Teesside band Bridgit’s Mantle will play some tunes for market goers and in March the market will have an Easter theme.
