MUSIC fans packed out Middlesbrough town centre for an all-day music festival at the weekend.

More than 100 North-east acts performed alongside some of the country’s most respected artists for the return of Middlesbrough Live.

With the likes of fast-rising singer-songwriter Rae Morris headlining the main stage in the Town Hall Crypt, and X Factor hopeful Kerrianne Covell appearing at Mink bar, there was an eclectic mix for fans of all styles of music.

Andy Carr, of promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold, said: "This year’s Middlesbrough Live line up has been lovingly assembled by some of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic independent promoters in our region. Teesside music fans were able to see great local acts alongside some of the best regional and national talent.

“It was brilliant to see Middlesbrough town centre coming alive with such a wide range of musical talent and the council deserve all the praise for making a clear commitment to bringing a day of exciting live music to our town.”

Street performers, comedians and community groups helped to keep the party atmosphere going out of the venues with a performance space around the Spectratxt sculpture.
