A 28-year-old man has died after being stabbed in Middlesbrough in the early hours of this morning (SUNDAY OCTOBER 6).
Police were called out by ambulance colleagues to Marton Road at 12.25am where they found a man with stab wounds.
He was taken to nearby James Cook University Hospital but died shortly after arriving.
A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing, with a number of officers still in the area. The man remains in police custody awaiting questioning.
A post-mortem was due to be carried out by a Home Office pathologist today (SUNDAY OCTOBER 6).
Police said they were treating the death as suspicious. They also stressed that they were not linking the death with the death of Benji Bolsenbroek at this time.
