A 27ft angling boat which suffered mechanical failure some five miles off Hartlepool this afternoon (Saturday, September 2) was rescued by the town's RNLI all weather lifeboat.
The alarm was raised at 1.24pm and the lifeboat was launched at 1.38pm and was alongside the stricken vessel - which had two people aboard - at 2pm.
The boat was towed to Hartlepool Marina, arriving at 3.15pm.
The all weather lifeboat then returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station and was refuelled and ready for service by 3.45pm.
