POLICE have arrested five people following drugs raids in Hartlepool.
Officers from Hartlepool Volume Crime Team discovered 60 cannabis plants at a property in Cobden Street shortly before 9.15am
They then uncovered a further 30 cannabis plants from the loft area of a house in Caithness Road in Hartlepool.
Four men aged 37, 33, 53 and 16 along with a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.
Detective Sergeant Mark Haworth said: “I hope today’s raids send a clear message to those intent on cultivating drugs in our town that you won’t get away with it.
“We are always building intelligence on drugs activity, and it is vital that we receive information from the public who have noticed tell-tale signs of drugs in their community such as blacked out windows, noises of fans and hydroponics or strange smells.
