A CYCLIST who was killed in an accident on the A689 in Hartlepool has been named as 58-year-old William Angus.
Mr Angus, who was from the town was involved in a collision with a car at 5.30pm on Thursday evening on the eastbound carriageway, near the Greatham turn off.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed in both directions for some time while investigations were carried out.
A number of witnesses who were in the area have been spoken to and officers are appealing for any other witnesses to contact them at Cleveland Police on 101.
