STAFF at a claims management company raised £458 for Hartlepool and District Hospice.
Albany Assistance, in Peterlee, east Durham, held a ‘Wear Something Purple’ day where 150 hospice ribbons were sold.
The hospice has now been chosen as Albany Assistance’s nominated charity for 2016 after an in-house poll where staff were asked to select from 12 local charities.
It will now be supported with further fund raising days.
Alexandra Chapman, a spokeswoman for Albany Assistance, said: “After the success of our Wear Something Purple Day we can’t wait to continue the good work throughout the year.”
Greg Hildreth, events fundraiser for Hartlepool and District Hospice, added: “Every penny donated will be used to fund the specialist care services we provide free of charge to patients and families affected by life limiting illnesses.”
