A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday after a suspected stabbing in Hartlepool.
Police were called to Sheriff Street at about 2.15pm on Tuesday to find that a 44-year-old man had been wounded.
Three men aged 47, 22 and 23 were arrested but have since been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
This morning Cleveland Police arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody.
The victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough after the incident, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
