FIVE members of staff from Northgate Public Services (NPS) will tackle a gruelling 140 mile Coast to Coast cycle ride to raise money for homeless people in Hartlepool.

The charity cycle ride, which runs over three days from June 19 to 21, starts in Whitehaven in Cumbria and ends in Tynemouth.

NPS staff will be raising funds in aid of local organisation, Community Campus 87, which supports homeless people in the Hartlepool area, helping with housing and support services, training and personal development and construction services.

David Coulson, NPS client services director and one of the five cyclists tackling the route, said: “We are delighted to be able to raise funds in aid of such a good cause. This year we have chosen to support homelessness as part of its Communities Matter scheme in support of worthy causes. We hope many people will support our fundraising event for Community Campus 87 by donating through the official website, so that we can improve the lives of many people who are homeless in the Hartlepool area.”
