A MAN has appeared at Teesside Crown Court charged with the manslaughter of a 39-year-old Hartlepool man,
Daniel Rochford, 25, of Henderson Grove, Hartlepool, was accused today (Wednesday, May 13) of the manslaughter of Gary Hart. He was also charged with affray.
The court was told that Mr Hart was assaulted with a pipe on York Road on April 16, 2014 and sustained three rib fractures and a punctured lung and died nine days later.
A second man, Kurtis Gretton, 24, of Thornton Street, Hartlepool, was also charged with affray in connection with the incident.
The pair will appear before the court again on July 31 but the court heard it is likely that manslaughter will be denied and there will be a trial later in the year. Both were released from the court on bail.
