BURGLARY victims across the North-East could be reunited with their stolen possessions after more than 50 plundered items including knives, a miniature 1958 cricket bat and Versace Christmas decorations were found at a property in Hartlepool.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged with burglary but Cleveland Police officers are now appealing for people who’ve had items taken by the suspected thief to come forward.
DC Jason Mactaggart said items including knives, power tools phones, jewellery, watches found at a property on Stephen Street could have been stolen from victims homes, sheds or cars. “We need to find the owners of the property. The items are not all worth a lot of money but they could be of great sentimental value.
“There is a large amount of costume jewellery, a Tag Heuer watch, Versace Christmas decorations and even a cricket bat dated 1958. The suspect is like a magpie.”
Anyone with information or who thinks they own any of the stolen property is asked to contact the non emergency 101 number.
