ENTRIES are now being taken for Hartlepool’s third Big Lime Triathlon.
The sprint triathlon will take place on Sunday, September 20 and comprise a 750-metre open water swim, a 20-kilometre cycle ride and a 5-kilometre run.
Organised by Hartlepool Council’s sport and physical activity team, with support from British Triathlon, the event is open to people of all abilities aged 16+.
Kay Stokes, from Hartlepool Council’s sport and physical activity team, said: “The Big Lime Triathlon has now become an established fixture on the national triathlon calendar and we are delighted to be staging it for a third time.
“Last year, 235 athletes competed on the day and we will be looking to build on the huge success of that event.”
The triathlon will take place in and around Hartlepool Marina and neighbouring Seaton Carew.
There are five entry categories – male and female junior (aged16-19), male and female senior (aged 20-39), male and female vet (aged 40-49), male and female super vet (aged 50+) and team (mixed/male/female).
Entry fees are £30 for British Triathlon members, £35 for non-members and £15 per person for members of relay teams.
