A MAN suffered serious facial injuries after he was attacked in Hartlepool in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 35-year-old was outside the Little Black Book on Whitby Street at around 2.30am when he was approached by a man and assaulted. The victim attended the University Hospital of North Tees, where he was treated for a fractured eye socket and cheekbone. He will require further treatment. The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, around 6ft tall and of muscular build with brown hair. He was wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Any witnesses are asked to contact PC David Lester on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
