A 91-YEAR-OLD man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car and sustaining a number of fractures.
The elderly pedestrian was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, after being involved in the incident at around 3.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
He was struck by a gold Renault Megane travelling along West Street, in Normanby, Middlesbrough, and sustained serious injuries including a fractured spine, ribs and pelvis.
Cleveland Police are now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or the Megane travelling in the area to come forward.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Anyone who believes they have captured relevant footage or anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw the collision – or the Megane beforehand – is asked to contact PC Amanda Stokes of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101.
“Please quote event number CVP-18-026416.”
