NEIGHBOURS in Billingham have scooped a £2.5 million People's Postcode Lottery windfall.

All players living in the TS23 3 postcode area will get a share of the prize money and the more tickets a person plays with, the more cash they win.

The biggest sums will go to players in the full winning postcode, which will be revealed at a Spring Postcode Millions party on Saturday, April 16.

The event, which is open to all, will be hosted by local radio presenter and People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador, Judie McCourt. She will be joined on stage by fellow People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador, Lions rugby legend, Scott Quinnell and X-Factor finalist Danyl Johnson will perform live.

Judie McCourt said: "I'm delighted that a North-East postcode has won the Spring Postcode Millions prize pot and I'm sure next weekend's party will be one to remember.

"Some very lucky people in Billingham are about to win life-changing amounts of money and I can't wait to be the one to give them the good news.

"This is also a chance to thank all our players for the difference they are making to local charities. Together we have raised over £12 million for good causes across Britain which is a truly incredible total."

People's Postcode Lottery is Britain's charity lottery and people play with their postcodes to win cash prizes while raising money for good causes near them.

Players have raised over £12 million for charity to date, including over £193,500 for Stockton-based Daisy Chain, which supports young people with autism and their families.

The details of where the party will be held will be released later in the week.
