A CLOTHES bank is opening its doors this weekend to provide outfits for people in need.
Teesside Socialist Clothing Bank is holding its first event today (Saturday) from 11am until 2pm at The John Paul Centre on Grange Road in Middlesbrough.
Lawrie Coombs, one of the organisers, said: “There are foodbanks but other things such as clothing are needed as well. “
Initially clothes will be available on the second Saturday of each month. Advice will also be given as well as free hot food and entertainment.
“We want this to be an uplifting experience. People have been offering us clothing left, right and centre, they are getting involved in a positive way.”
