A FILM actor has invited his agent, responsible for managing the careers of several television stars, to try and find new young talent in Stockton.

Acting workshops are being held on Sunday, February 1, for seven to 11-year olds and 12 to 18-year-olds at The Georgian Theatre at Green Dragon Yard in Stockton.

Daniel John Williams, an actor originally from the town, has landed roles in the comedy gangster film Redirected with Vinnie Jones, as well as Casualty and the BBC Three comedy, Way to Go.

He is now working with his agent, Carol Godby, who has agencies in Manchester and London and has helped propel youngsters into the limelight including Sam Aston, Nikki Sanderson and Jenny McAlpine in Coronation Street.

After a successful talent scouting visit to Teesside in September, the pair are returning next month.

"Not only did everyone gain a great insight into the television industry, some of the participants were successful in receiving representation, which in my opinion is a massive result and I couldn't be happier," Mr Williams said.

"The talent in Teesside deserves this. It's something I wished for when I was growing up. From the tender age of eight, I just wanted someone to spot me. Finally, it's possible for others that are keen to work in the industry.”

Costing £25, the workshops are being held from 10am to noon for the junior class and 1pm to 3pm for the senior session with a possibility of future monthly events.
