THERE was a big surprise in the woods this weekend as teddy bears whizzed around a picnic.
A zip wire was rigged up for the teddies at the Gisborough Priory Woodland Gardens in Guisborough at the fundraising event.
The young owners for the teddies waited for their brave toys to finish their fun rides while eating homemade cakes, tea, coffee and juices at the fun day which will raise cash for the Gisborough Priory Project.
About 300 people attended on what was a bright and breezy afternoon and there was a teddy bear treasure trail and a woolly teddy bears picnic, expertly knitted by Guisborough Knit Wits, on display as well as teddy bear stories told in the woodland storytelling area.
"It was a our first teddy bears picnic and a big success," said Ann Roe, secretary of the Gisborough Priory Project.
"The zip wire was a big highlight of the day."
