POLICE investigating a stabbing incident are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a man they want to speak to.

Officers would like to speak to 28-year-old Dean Barrett in connection with an incident that took place on Etty Avenue in the Tang Hall area of York at around midnight on Saturday, in which a man was stabbed.

Two men have been arrested and released on bail while investigations continue. Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

As part of their enquiries officers would like to speak Barrett as he may have important information that could assist the investigation. Anyone who sees Barrett or knows where he is urged to contact them.

Barrett is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall of medium build with dark brown hair and brown eyes. It is believed he may be in York.
