A MAN has been seriously hurt in a hit-and-run incident on a busy city centre road.
Police are appealing for information to help find a black Nissan after it was involved in the impact in Blossom Street in York.
The incident happened at midday today when the car hit a male pedestrian and then drove off from the scene.
The man suffered serious, but not believed to be life threatening, injuries and was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a black Nissan in the area which looks damaged, is asked to contact police. Dial 101, select option one and pass information to the Force Control Room.
Blossom Street and Nunnery Lane have been closed while investigation at the scene takes place.
