PEOPLE have the chance to find out more about the redevelopment of Whitby Hospital this month.

A drop-in session is being staged by NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on Thursday, March 16, when people can find out more about the revised timescales for the project.

The health body temporarily halted the project during 2016 when national policy changed to introduce market rents on NHS properties. Now it has released a revised time frame for the project.

The CCG expects to have floor plans in place by the end of March and it is thought work could start on the site in autumn this year.

People will be able to look at the design proposals for the redevelopment and put questions to representatives from the designers of the new facility, as well as staff from North Yorkshire County Council and local health bodies.

The session will take place in the old day rehab room of the ground floor of Whitby Hospital on Springhill between 4pm and 6pm.

There is no need to book for this event. Questions or comments can be emailed to whitbyf4f@nhs.net or posted to Freepost Plus RTER-KESE-BGCH, HRW CCG, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Northallerton DL6 2UU.
