A COUPLE are sailing into uncharted waters after winning a dream cruise with a difference – because their every move will be followed by an audience of thousands.

Freddy Berry, 57, and Karen Pacaud, 52, have won the holiday of a lifetime on board the new Britannia ship owned by P&O Cruises.

Everything they do on board and on shore will be chosen for them by the cruise lines thousands of followers on Facebook and Twitter.

The couple, from York, were chosen by a panel of expert judges to join the two week Caribbean cruise which will visit Barbados, St Lucia, Curacao, Aruba, Grenada, St Vincent, Dominica, Antigua and St Maarten.

The aim is to push them outside their comfort zone and get them to experience as much of the onshore and onboard activities, entertainment and cuisine as possible.

The ship has 13 bars, 13 restaurants, nine theatres and show lounges, four swimming pools, a cookery club, sports arena, spa gym and library.

Freddy, a business consultant, and Karen, who runs a small French-themed cafe in Boroughbridge, are both fitness fanatics, everything they do from what they wear, where they go and what they see will be shown live on the cruises social media channels.

The firms senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, said: “This is an incredible introduction to cruising for Freddy and Karen and I’m sure they’ll be hooked within hours."
