DETECTIVES are appealing for two women who saw a man committing a sexual act in woods near public gardens to contact them.

The two women saw the man in woods surrounding Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate on Thursday afternoon (August 18) and reported it to staff at the RHS attraction, who in turn reported it to North Yorkshire Police.

Now detectives are appealing for the two women to come forward along with anyone else who may have seen the man.

Officers are linking the incident with a similar one in the same area on June 2 earlier this year.

Members of the public are advised to be vigilant when they are in the area and report any suspicious activity to the police on 101.

Anyone with any information about this latest incident is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Harrogate Investigation Hub.
