A POLICE officer has been injured after a dog was allegedly set on him.
The incident happened in The Green, Acomb, York at 12.15pm on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police's York West section tweeted: "Male arrested for serious assault at address in Acomb, after setting an aggressive dog on officers conducting a search.
"One officer has been treated in hospital for puncture wounds to his arm caused by the dog, and is now recovering."
