AN elderly woman is fighting for her life and two men have suffered injuries after a crash on a rural road near the A1(M).
North Yorkshire Police said a blue BMW, being driven by a 61-year-old man from the Durham area collided with a white Chrysler on the B1224 Wetherby to York road at 1.30pm on Monday (June 8).
The passenger in the Chrysler, a 77-year-old woman from Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire sustained critical injuries in the collision on the Sandbeck approach near Wetherby Services and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 79-year-old man from Pateley Bridge, was also taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.
The BMW driver was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with minor injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either of the vehicles before, should call police on 101.
