BEER-lovers are getting the chance to raise a few pints and boost charity coffers at the same time.

The annual Harrogate Charity Beer Festival, organised by the local Round Table, is being held at the town’s Crown Hotel from March 12 to 14.

More than 25 different brews and a variety of ciders will be available to sample and there will be live music each night.

Spokesman Craig Pinches said: : “We are very excited to be showcasing what are arguably some of the best ales in the UK and raising much needed funds for local charities.

“We receive great support from many breweries but I would like to extend my thanks to two local breweries in particular, Theakston and Daleside.”

He added: “We have been raising a glass to great ales for 25 years now and we want to raise everyone’s spirit during the cold months.”

Admission will be £15, which includes a souvenir glass, a tasting notes booklet and eight half-pints of beer.
