POLICE have released CCTV images of a man who is alleged to have stolen a passenger’s suitcase from a train.

The suitcase was taken from a train at Durham on Saturday, January 31.

PC Wayne Brown, of British Transport Police, said: “The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Newcastle, had boarded the service at Newark and sat in coach H. She checked on her bag as the train left Durham station and discovered it was missing.

“After reviewing CCTV on board the train, a man is seen boarding the train at York. He then walks around a number of carriages on the train before stealing the victim’s case and leaving the train at Durham."
