A MASTERCHEF finalist and former nurse is set to run the Yorkshire Marathon to raise funds for a charity which supports people suffering inflammation of the brain.
Sara Danesin Medio, who gave up her York Hospital job and launched the city’s first dining club after the 2011 BBC series, said she was inspired to take on the 26-mile challenge on Sunday, October 12, after meeting the chief executive of The Encephalitis Society at one of her cookery classes.
Mrs Danesin Medio said: “Having previously been an intensive care unit nurse I understand the devastating consequences of encephalitis for those affected and their families.
"That is why I have chosen to run the Yorkshire Marathon for The Encephalitis Society, who work tirelessly to support those affected and their families.”
