WEIRD and wonderful characters are set to descend on Whitby with the return of the Steampunk Weekend.
It runs over the weekend of February 10 and will bring a host of attractions to the town including the Steampunk Emporium at the Whitby Pavilion Exhibition Halls.
The Emporium will be open both days between 11am and 5pm and will boast 80 vendors selling a range of quirky goods.
There will also be live action demonstrations in magic, escapology and Victorian tricks of wonderment, among many others.
On the Saturday night from 7pm there will be a ticketed Music and Mayhem Evening with an array of entertainers at the Whitby Pavilion Theatre.
As the festival coincides with the start of the half term, the children’s classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will also be shown in the cinema over both days.
A spokesman for the event said: “We would like to encourage more of the local community to come and enjoy the film and free event - we had around 7,000 through the doors last time!”
More details can be found on the event’s facebook page.
