A LIFEBOAT had to be launched this morning after a man on board a chartered fishing vessel started to suffer from chest pains.
The Whitby volunteer crew were paged at 10.30am and the all-weather boat was launched with a paramedic on board.
The lifeboat met the fishing vessel and escorted it back to Whitby harbour where the casualty was transferred to a waiting ambulance.
Station mechanic Richard Dowson said "We worked alongside the paramedic to get help to the casualty as quickly and safely as possible. Well done to the crew for such a quick response time in launching the all-weather lifeboat."
