POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in the street and left needing hospital treatment.

The 18-year-old victim was outside the Co-Op on Langbourne Road, Whitby, when he was approached by two men.

They knocked the teenager to the ground causing injury to his face and head. Before making off in the direction of the car park behind the Co-op.

The victim needed hospital treatment for bruising to his face and head after the incident, which happened at about 6pm on June 7.

Police are now asking for the public’s help and anyone with information is asked to contact 101, select option two and ask for PC Marie Williams.
