PEOPLE worried about the risk of flooding to their properties are being invited to drop in on a special roadshow.

The national Flood Advisory Service roadshow will be in Whitby on January 28 and experts will be on hand to provide free advice and practical solutions.

The FAS roadshow trailer will be parked on Endeavour Wharf car park, behind Whitby Tourist Information centre, off Langborne Road, from 10am to 7pm.

The experts will be able to provide information on the specific flood risk in local areas, point people in the direction of local flood groups and possible funding support routes and advise on “flood vulnerable” areas in properties.

They will also give an independent overview of flood mitigation products in the marketplace, guide people through the flood survey and installation process and provide contacts for reliable, local and certified flood professionals.

A representative from Scarborough Borough Council will also be present to provide information on how they work with partner organisations to help local communities during times of flooding emergency.
