THREE women are proving that when it comes to driving vehicles in the waste industry, there’s no such thing as jobs for the boys.

Dawn Boldison-France is the latest female driver to successfully pass her HGV driving exam whilst working at Yorwaste.

She joins fellow drivers Peggy Frankland and Anna Guziak who are all based at the company’s waste transfer station in Thirsk.

Dawn spent eight months working as waste collection operative before swapping a wheelie bin for a steering wheel.

The 47-year-old, who lives in Boroughbridge, said: “I have always loved working outside and prior to joining Yorwaste I spent ten years driving on behalf of the RSPCA.

"I was keen to get back to driving and I'm delighted to have passed my HGV exam."
