MEMBERS of a record-breaking rowing team have helped raise £2,615 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
An evening with two of the Yorkshire Rows - the group of mums who broke the record for the oldest all-female crew to cross an ocean - was recently held at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold.
The event featured a talk by Helen Butters and Frances Davies, who, along with Janette Benaddi and Niki Doeg, successfully completed the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in February 2016.
The pair signed copies of the Yorkshire Rows’ newly published book ‘Four Mums in a Boat’ and a free prize draw was held.
Wendy Stirke, chairman of the Galtres Committee thanked all involved in the success of the event.
