PEOPLE are being asked to help in an urgent search to find a spaniel, Lilly, who went missing after chasing something and failed to return.

The working cocker went missing from a family smallholding in North Kilvington, near Thirsk, on April 2, at about 3.30pm.

Despite extensive searches since she went missing, there have been no sightings of her.

Lilly is 18-months-old, neutered and microchipped and has never gone missing before. Her owners, Wayne and Emma and their 12-year-old twins have been searching every day since she went missing without success.

Now they have asked people to help in the search at 11am on Friday, April 7.

A spokesperson for the family said: “The smallholding is surrounded by woods and farmland, the family moved to the farmhouse only four months ago and so Lilly is a virtual stranger to the area.

“They are obviously concerned that she is hopelessly lost or that Lilly has fallen into one of the gullies dug around local farmland which is covered with thick brambles or has got herself caught up or trapped and so need urgent help to try and locate her.

“A dog tracker visited yesterday and her dog tacked Lilly out towards Northallerton but the dog was, unfortunately, not located.”

Anyone who can help should ring 07706 131909 or 07545 624903 or via Lilly's Facebook page; Get-Lilly-Home-Plz which has been set up to help locate Lilly. The family are hoping to have a drone on hand to help cover the area more efficiently.
