ONE person was taken to hospital after a two-car collision in North Yorkshire.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon on the A170 at Sutton under Whitestonecliffe, not far from Thirsk.

It involved a Kia and a Volkswagen and one person was airlifted to hospital with non0life threatening injuries.

North Yorkshire Police Road Policing Group Sergeant, Paul Cording tweeted: "A testament to safety features in modern cars that despite a head-on collision only one injury who is sat up talking."
The road was closed until around 5pm while the cars were recovered.
